Dear friends,
What kinds of rest do you need in your life after a busy, but not quite normal year? What practices do you use to reflect and plan for the future?
As we’ve talked about these questions among staff at The Well, we’ve decided to create space for our own rest, reflection, and planning this summer by pausing new publications in June and July. You won’t see new pieces at The Well, or find new episodes of our podcast All Shall Be Well, receive your favorite weekly newsletter, or see us on social media.
You will be able to find us in person (!) at the Midwest Faculty Conference (you’re invited, even if you don’t live in the midwest), and online in the Via Divina: Franciscan Way (click here for information on our debrief groups and a discount code), and in an early summer gathering for academic moms. And you can always reach out to us on email.
We'll be back in August with new pieces for a new semester, new podcast episodes, and some exciting updates! In the meantime, we have a few suggestions for things you might enjoy:
- If you're looking for some summer reading, we recommend picking up Restless Devices by Felicia Wu Song, our Fall 2022 book club selection. This book helps us ask questions about what kind of people we want to be and how our digital habits help or hinder us to live in the ways we long for. (Listen to our podcast episode with Felicia to get a taste of the rich content in the book.) We are looking forward to discussing it this fall! Sign up here for early registration and a discount code.
- If you would like to implement a summer practice for spiritual refreshment, you might enjoy using our visio divina series from last summer, or our “Poems for Contemplation” series from summer 2020.
- If you appreciate the work our team does, would you consider supporting our work financially with a one-time gift before the end of our fiscal year or a monthly gift? You can find more information about giving here.
